Don’t tell me I can’t remember!

Is it Christmas yet? No.

Is it time for Christmas things? Depends what elements you’re talking about. Christmas trees? No. Christmas lights? Not for outside, but yes for inside. Music? Sure. Sufjan’s Christmas EPs (esp. no.’s 4, 5, and 8) gets played year-round, as does Handel’s Messiah (especially this and this - seriously, both so good), most of which isn’t really Christmas music at all. Amy Grant’s “Emmanuel” excels in its appropriateness for all occasions, so it, too, is a viable option all year. But pretty much everything else needs to wait for at least November. Thanksgiving has become not the final hurdle for the Christmas season, but an interlude. Which is fine, because Thanksgiving music and decorations suck anyway.
